Calgary & Toronto (October 21, 2011)—The Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) and The Independent Mortgage Brokers Association of Ontario (IMBA) have formed a collaborative partnership that will bring together two industry associations focused on supporting and educating the mortgage brokerage industry.
Both AMBA and IMBA develop their association partnerships with organizations that work to better the mortgage brokerage industry and support the mission and goals of their respective associations and their members.
“AMBA is committed to our mission and goals of the association and this partnership with IMBA brings together two associations whose continued success hinges on the ability to innovate and to respond to industry change. It’s our goal to better the industry and through teamwork, I truly believe we will enhance industry professionalism,” said AMBA President Paul Bojakli.
“IMBA’s Directors are very excited about the opportunities that this initiative will present to our Associations’ members and we are proud to partner with AMBA, which has a strong legacy in educating and training brokers and agents,” said Albert Collu, President of IMBA.

Students who successfully completed Mortgage Broker Part 1 MBP100 prior to September 2012 will have an opportunity to complete Mortgage Broker Part 2 - MBP200 October 22 - 26, 2012.
Those who successfully complete this subject will have met the educational requirements for licensing by the regulator, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) as a Mortgage Agent in Ontario. All of the competencies (Mortgage Agent Qualifying Standards), or "MAQs" identified as critical by the regulator have been addressed in this offering.
